show column if on table visualization

Hi -

I have a table visualization with a field which determines the order the departments are to appear in the table (DEPT_ORDER).  I have sorted the table visualization by DEPT_ORDER as the first field.   Work perfectly.

When I add a formula  to the "Show Column If" setting, the order so the column doe not display, the sort order gets mess up.

Example:

[DEPT_ORDER] = 99

The DEPT_ORDER field does not display on the visualization table (that works), BUT the sort order is now ignored.  And thoughts ?

You can sort a column using an expression:

Use the first column's expression to sort in that order. If the first column was a dimension, use the Min/Max/Avg/Only functions to get the sorting order.

Hi

Thanks for your help - appreciate it.

I am a little confused on the expression - what would it be set at ?

The field is a dimension DEPT_ORDER
