At Qlik, we continually look for ways to improve the user experience and make it easier for you and your organization to make data-driven decisions and take action. Feedback from customers like you combined with technology from our 2020 Knarr Analytics acquisition drove the features of Simplified Authoring, which include:
Assets Panel: Classifies field types and, when fields are expanded, shows values; also displays master items (dimensions and measures), which can be selected for your chart or visualization.
Properties Panel: Includes a Data area; Autochart, which provides more than 30 visualization choices; allows you to include or exclude dimension values by ticking boxes; and Presentation area, where you can choose sorting, coloring, labeling, styling, tooltips, and axis options.
SmartGrid: Acts as a placeholder for your visualizations, which automatically adjusts the size, so they fit within your sheet. You can easily add charts by clicking on “+” to the right and below the grid.
Data Table: Explore your data and inspect fields and values from tables loaded within Qlik Sense SaaS. Make selections within the table to pinpoint areas of interest and analysis.
If you prefer the classic look and feel or require the full set of properties for your use cases, simply click on the toggle in the upper right-hand corner for Advanced Authoring.

We will continue to build out more capabilities as we obtain additional feedback on Simplified Authoring.
Qlik has been diligently reviewing and testing our product suite since we’ve become aware of the Apache Log4j vulnerability mid-December. We want to ensure Qlik users that your security is our upmost priority. We have addressed multiple vulnerabilities through a series of product patches for supported affected versions and we recommend you update to the most recent releases available, shown in the chart below.
Log4j versions before v2.16 presented the highest threat and all exposed Qlik products have provided patches with at least v2.16 and will all be updated to v2.17.1 or later under the regular release schedule as we are not vulnerable to the CVEs related to 2.17.0
We’d like to direct you to our FAQ document to review should you have any further questions, and we encourage you to comment with any additional questions.

The Qlik MailChimp connector uses the MailChimp Marketing API 3.0. Until recently, the connector also relied on parts of previous API versions (1.0 & 2.0), which were retired by Mailchimp on June 5, 2023.
The only remaining integration used in the Qlik MailChimp connector was for the 'List' table. This table has now stopped returning any data, and you are advised to use the new table 'Members' instead. The ‘Members’ table retrieves the corresponding information via the Marketing API 3.0.
The connector was updated in Qlik Sense Cloud at the beginning of June 2023 and in the standalone Qlik Web Connector released on June 7, 2023.
For more information about the MailChimp connector, see:

Qlik identifies current ingested data using their "watermark pattern" to support an incremental loading pattern for data from third-party tools or data-sharing agreements. Recognizing patterns makes the transformations that manage history efficient, allowing Qlik to integrate with existing data ingestion tools.
Data ingestion tools cost more if they track history. Hence, data engineering teams seek to reduce data ingestion costs by transforming ingested data and maintaining records as part of broader transformation capabilities resulting in reduced overall costs.
For existing Qlik customers, since Qlik Cloud Data Integration understands how Qlik Replicate delivers data, users can register, transform, and maintain the history of incrementally ingested data while creating a layer of real-time, live views over the data to reduce cloud computing expenses. Once users register the data into their pipelines, the complete transformation capabilities are available. Hence data engineering teams already having Qlik Replicate can reuse existing artifacts while transitioning to Qlik Cloud Data Integration.
Current Qlik Replicate customers expect to automate their transformations in their cloud data warehouses or lakes without managing on-premises software such as Qlik Compose. Their use cases range from custom SQL-driven output to operational data stores and data warehouses that follow patterns such as Kimball star schema, Inmon, data vault, and multi-zoned lakehouses.
Contact us to try the new capabilities in the latest release of Qlik Cloud Data Integration to automate data transformations and data marts via the Transform and Data Mart tasks.

Q&A:
Q: Your multi language apps is really critical to my business as we globalise - where is there more content about how we can handle dimension name translation in line with the native Qlik langauge translations?
A: Dimension names can be renamed in the load script, but it may not be necessary, just translate the dimension labels in the app instead.
Making a Multilingual Qlik Sense App
Q: Do the objects within the new Container have to be master visualizations?
A: No, you don't need to use Master visualizations. You can add new charts to the object or drag and drop existing charts from the sheet.
Q: When will the Layout Container be available?
A: Most likely later this year
Q: After update, there is a problem with filtering a "toString" field. I can't open the application for 10 minutes. What wrong with that field? (e.g. load * inline [toString test1];)
A: Hard to tell without seeing the app and knowing what the field is. As a general rule, keep the cardinality of fields down. If I would guess toString in this case may stop the engine from optimizing the field. To learn more, read HiCs post.
Symbol Tables and Bit-Stuffed Pointers
Q: Will we be able to pin objects to certain locations on the grid? As shown, a sheet menu build using the layout container would be nice to pin to the top left corner for example?
A: In the first release positioning and size will be using percentages. So, if you would have the position 0% for both axis then it would be pinned in the corner.
