How to stop/interrupt a load script that won't complete

I've searched and I'm probably using the wrong search terms.

I've started a load that uses json - and it is not finishing, it just spins.

How do I interrupt and stop the load editor?

I've tried esc key and refreshing my url can lose some of my updates.  Suggestions?
