Hi - My connection is working okay if I run it as the main admin / tenant owner.. the issue I have is when another user tries to refresh an app with the direct access connection in it. The user has elevated qlik user rights and full rights to the relevant spaces.
Any ideas?
I also tried to create a new app using the connection and that users login...I found that while they can see it and have the rights as a member they get this message when trying to inster data.
I do not understand why Qlik is asking to 'Provide missing credentials'
The latest version of the connector is installed on the server
Hi - does anyone know of a good resource / webpage that explains the direct access / space user access rights fully? Once a DA connection/gateway is created and you select the space, there doesn't seem to be an option to change it..
Whilst trying to sort out the above issue I have found that you need to do the following;
1. create the DA gateway per the Qlik instructions and put it in a space... you then need to give any user that would like to manually refresh and app, that uses the connection/gateway, the relevant space role(s).
2. if say a SQL connection is created, using the DA gateway and that is in another space you also need to give the user the relevant role(s) for that space.
3. This is where I get confused as to the how and why, but when a user tries to manually refresh, they can't quite do it yet... they need to edit the load script, click on the connection (SQL in this example), which then shows a popo up window for missing credentials... it will display the credentials used to create the SQL connection, which you can then click on apply... the user then seems to have the ability to refresh an app manually..
Step 3 is where I do get a bit lost (the how and why), but I guess this is to allow the credentials to be changed so that the user is not using the creators credentials, where required. Guess this can be useful if the creator is an admin and has more access to the data tables / source, that you would like the end user(s) to have...
Any help on this new and mystical subject would be much appreciated 🙂
Hello @AdyWorrall,
We have been looking at this and the scenario reported and indeed the users using such connection needs too have edit permissions on the Qlik Data Gateway.
When it comes to the error prompted, we have raised to our engineering team, so a more meaningful error could be provided, so you have a better idea on what is going wrong.
Cheers,
Albert
