Can't create new projects. Don't have login page.

Hello,

i'm new with Talend, i've installed the 7.2 and 7.0 versions just for checking, and with both versions the situation is the same:

after reading the documentation guides, it is supposed that there is a "login" page with options as opening a project,creating a new one or opening a demo. I don't have that page, and i don't have the option in the GUI to start new projects...

Here is a screenshot with what i see with a fresh new installation (before connecting to a database). I've also made a connection to a database and added some analysis but i still can't create new projects.

Any help will be appreciated.

Actually, you can import the demo project either from the login window of your studio as a separate project, or from the Integration perspective into your current project.

However, with talend open studio for data quality, there is no support for ETL job design which means no Integration Perspective.

Could you please try to use a 30- day free trial Talend Data Management Platform solution? It includes DQ and DI bundles.

right now i'm not interested in Talend Data Management, just in free solutions.

Do you mean that there is no way to create a new project from Talend Data Quality solution?

You refer to a login page to import a demo project. I don't have such a login page, when i lauch Talend, what i see is the image that i attached to the first message.

With talend open studio for data quality product, there is no login page to import a demo project as there is no support for ETL job design.

You will get it from talend open studio for data integration.

What's your job requirement? ETL processing or data profiling?

my requirements are both i think... I need to do data profiling to analyse the data and database structure and ETL to implement bussiness rules for Data Quality.

The idea is to call Talend analysis from another application (through web services), to check, for example, duplicates, completeness, or more compex rules like checking the validation of a registration number, the relationship between tables or the match of regex expressions.

I'm a little bit lost with Talend since there seems to be many products... I'm focusing in the Data Quality solution since i think is the one that best matches my requirements, but now that i see that i can't even start a new project well, it sounds weird to me.

By the way, i don't want to start a new project from a demo, i just want to start a new project without having to uninstall a reinstall Talend (because you told me there is no way to create a new project, if i understood well).

If you need to use both DI and DQ bundles, please have a look at Talend Data Management Platform which offers more connectors, collaboration, scheduling, management and monitoring capabilities, built-in data quality, and expert support.
