Client-Server style installation on Linux Red Hat 5.1

Hi,
We have the trial version of Talend Open studio "TalendOpenStudio-linux-gtk-x86_64". We like to have this installed on the linux machine and act as server. Also, we like have Talend client on our desktops connecting to the Talend server on the Linux machine.
When I install Talend, I get the option to setup the repository as 'local' or 'shared'. I'm not sure how to setup Talend in client-server style. Please let me know if this is possible.

You can't setup a client-server stype with Talend Open studio, you are only able to create a local repository.

What is your objective behind client and server configuration can you pl elaborate? There is no advantage of client connecting to server for job development and creation using Talend? Talend is a code generator for your ETL requirement...

Hi Vaibhav,
Through Client-Server model I want achieve following objectives-
1) I want to add users and give them permissions.
2) I want to store all my metadata on server so-that all users can get from it one single location.
3) I want to store all jobs created by different users in single location.
4) All processing should done on server only. client can only design job and on thier machine.
5) Also version controlling should also achieved.

This are all objectives i want to achieve. I want same model like Informatica.

Talend Studio for Data Integration is a client tool, you can't access it from another machine. Refer to the compatible platforms page in official user manual.

Now i understand , we cannot access talend open studio in our local machine when it is installed in  a server.
Here one thing i have to know ,when Iam using talend open studio for data integration in my local machine
1.how can i share my job and metadata with server,
2. And what i have to install in server machine to share all my work.....................Is there any software to install in server to access all the work from my local system(talend open studio)

You can't do this in open studio.
Only way is export current project and import it in your server environment. This is the way everyone follows who works on TOS.
