Extending a component

Hi,

I'm looking at TOS-DI with views to take one component and extend it for internal use (at the beginning). Is that possible with the current licensing scheme for TOS-DI? I mean, TOS is Open Source by definition and, as such, everybody has access to the source code and modify it at need. Then, I'm also assuming that if I'd like to extend TOS (with my plugins) I could do it without major licensing problems, provided I still abide to the license (Apache 2.0) you have. Am I right/wrong?

As long as you adhere to the licensing rules, you will be fine. I'm afraid I cannot offer advice on what the license allows you to do. However, you can find the information here.

Hi
The source code of components are located in <studio installation directory>\plugins\org.talend.designer.components.localprovider_7.x.x.xxxxxxxx_xxxx\components.
You can copy the component and create a new component, and then modify the code.
More information about component development, please read

Hi Shong,

many thanks for your response Shong. However, I was more asking about from the licensing and copy-right rather than from where we can find the code of one of the components 0683p000009MACn.png

Hi Richard,

many thanks for your response. That should be enough. I'll have a further look to the site you recommended me.
