I can't download third party jar Files

Hi,

I have researched this issue some and found this previous thread: https://community.talend.com/t5/Installing-and-Upgrading/not-able-to-download-jars-in-TOSBD-6-5-vers...

I've followed all the steps to add the talend-update.talend.com:443 to the proxy whitelist.  I've signed into my exchange account.  I've restarted TOS as administrator and I still cannot get an actual download and install button for any of the external jar files.

What's more is that the typical jar installation wizard that would typically run at start-up of TOS_DI doesn't even initiate.  I'm trying to get my TOS_DI 7.0.1.20180411_1414 instance running on a new work computer.  I've imported all of my relevant workspaces but when I try to modify any of them - I can't because none of the appropriate jar files have been installed.  When I attempt to follow these steps - I cannot get the actual "Download and Install" button to show up - it's always greyed out or just gives me the icon to navigate my local file system.

Any help?

Thanks,

Hello,

Could you please check if the glazedlists_java15-1.9.0.jar lib is showing in the modules view as "installed"? Is this jar file located in your <TalendStudioInstallationPath>plugins\org.talend.libraries.nattable.glazedlist_x.x.x.20180xxxx_xxxx\lib folder?

Best regards

Sabrina

@xdshi

It is not in that directory, no (see the image below).  But for this 1 .jar file - I downloaded it manually from the nexus site and uploaded it to the C:\Talend\TOS_DI-20180411_1414-V7.0.1\TOS_DI-20180411_1414-V7.0.1\configuration\.m2 path and manually assigned it to the module list.  So - the modules now show it is installed but it's only because I did that manually.  I only did that for this 1 because there will be literally thousands that need installed if I can ever figure out why this isn't functioning.

I also tried to unzip Talend 7.0.1 on a totally different machine, and I have the same problem there.  The application that would normally identify all missing, required modules doesn't run.  When you run the Help -> Install Additional Packages -> it doesn't identify any available features at all (see below).

Additionally, on the alternate machine, I did unzip Talend 6.3.2 the same way that I did 7.0.1 with 7Zip to C:\Talend6 and that version of the application runs this external module fine and installed all the required 3rd party files in that versioned directory.

This definitely seems like a bug with the 7.0.1 executable.

Hello,

Did you download TOS_DI-20180411_1414-V7.0.1.zip file from https://www.talend.com/products/data-integration/data-integration-open-studio/?_ga=2.164473407.16804...

@xdshi,

I actually downloaded from the 'Other Releases' page which is linked on the page your provided:

https://www.talend.com/products/data-integration/data-integration-manuals-release-notes/?_ga=2.10685...

I would hope that there wouldn't be versions that just flat out don't work on that page...

Thanks,

Darin

Hello,

The 'Other Releases' page works as well as "Download page".

Here is a specific use case shared on forum:https://community.talend.com/t5/How-Tos-and-Best-Practices/Getting-Talend-Open-Studio-internet-conne...

So far, we cannot repro this issue on window 10, talend v7.0.1 from our side.

est regards

Thanks @xdshi that sounds promising.

The issue that I have is that I have absolutely zero knowledge of exporting certs.  And is that user referencing the certs from  talend-update.talend.com:443 ?  Or some other site?

If I can figure out how to export the proper certs then I can follow the method to import them but having never done that seems a stretch for me but I'll see what I can do.

Hello,

Have you tried to open talend.com in browser(IE), click on cert info and export the cert files to see if it is OK with you?

Best regards

Sabrina

@xdshi - I just did, yes.

The cert info for talend.com and the Nexus site (https://talend-update.talend.com/nexus) with the jar files has been approved/signed by our certificate authority according to Internet Explorer.

When I try to open TOS_DI_7.0.1 and then try to launch the "Install Additional Packages" menu option from the Help menu - It doesn't do anything.  I checked the log in <Install Directory>\workspace\.metadata\.log and there is this message:

!MESSAGE Connection to https://update.talend.com/Studio/tos/7.0.1/p2.index failed on sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target. Retry attempt 0 started

When I try to navigate to that site I get an 404 Not Found error:

0683p000009LyB7.png

If I try to just get to the base website : https://update.talend.com/ then I get this:

0683p000009LyR9.png

I don't know if this is helpful or not but something isn't working properly.

Thanks,

Darin
