Migrating from Sunopsis to Talend ETL?

Bonjour,
Je voudrais savoir s'il existe une procédure simple pour migrer les développements effectués dans l'ETL Sunopsis, vers l'ETL de Talend ?
Ou bien est-il nécessaire de tout re-développer ?
(I would like to know if there is a procedure to migrate from Sunopis ETL -known as ODI, Oracle Data Integrator, in the latest release- to TOS ?
Or is it necessary to re-develop everything in TOS ?)
Merci/Thank you

Hi,
Actually it depends on the extend of your migration, but we do have procedures. Also we propose service offers with Experts who will support you while migrating your Sunopsis environment to Talend.
Moreover as Talend Open Studio includes both ELT and ETL features, the Sunopsis job migration gets significantly facilitated.

Do not hesitate to contact us to get more information about these services.

Hi Elisa,
I think that it would be a long and hard work: we have more than 1000 interfaces and 200 procedures in Sunopsis, specific modules (for example modules written in Jython), and we access different technologies (DB2/400, MySQL, SQL Server, DB2/UDB, Oracle, Text files, Excel files).
Some of our procedure execute OS commands, send e-mails, etc.
Do you think that all of these features can be moved to Talend ?
Are your existing procedures able to migrate such developments ?

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

Well, of course, I cannot promise you that a job of that extend will be done in no time. 🙂 But from what you list, it seems more than feasible to me...
and we access different technologies (DB2/400, MySQL, SQL Server, DB2/UDB, Oracle, Text files, Excel files).
Some of our procedure execute OS commands, send e-mails, etc.

All the connectors you require to access the technologies listed above are already available in Talend Open Studio.
We also do offer standard components to execute easily OS commands, email sending, and many other procedures that you may require on your daily activity.
And if you want to, you can even develop and add any java component to your Talend Open Studio that you specifically require for your activity. And if a component is of great interest to the community, we could even include it into a next release of Talend Open studio.
Do you think that all of these features can be moved to Talend ?

From what I can see so far, I'd say, all these features are already up and running in Talend Open Studio...
Are your existing procedures able to migrate such developments ?

Due to the extend of the project and to make sure we cover all your specific needs, I'd recommend that you first seek advice from our Talend team.

I hope I answered well your questions,
Elisa
