Question on what Version to use for new BI Developer

We have a new BI Developer starting soon, do you recommend that we have him install the latest version of Talend OR install the version that we are currently working in, which is 6.2.1.  We are planning on upgrading to the latest version when we can this year, but we are not there yet.

Please advise.

job developped in 7.1 will not work on 6.2.

so as per my suggestion , 1st upgrade and use latest version .
