Talend Open Studio ESB and macOS Big Sur - random crash

Hello,

I've just installed TOS ESB 7.3.1 (also 7.4.1M5) on macOS Big Sur and sometimes Studio crashes without any reason.

Here is a screen and log. Thanks.

Hello,

Please refer to this jira issue about: Support of MacOS Big Sur

https://jira.talendforge.org/browse/TUP-29348

In the documentation we provide a list of operating system that are supported, in the sense that we do provide an SLA and technical support for them. This doesn't mean other (non-listed) operating system. will not work but simply we won't necessarily be equipped to help you with any issue you may face with them.

Best regards

Sabrina

Hello,

So far, macOS Big Sur is not supported officially. There will be a fixed in talend v 7.4.1

Are you getting this issue at start up? Did you use Java 8 or Java 11 to start studio? Maybe studio/eclipse got less issues with Java 8.

Best regards

Sabrina

Hello,

no never on startup. It usually happens when clicking on some button in GUI. Last time it happened when I click "Run" button within job to run current job. It led to immediately crash whole studio with macos error dialog - same as in the first post. I've tried both Java supported versions, Java 11 which is recommended (java 11.0.10-zulu) and also with Java 8 (1.8.0.202 oracle). Same problem on both.

Hello,

We are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution for this. But unfortunately we do not recommend taking a new MacOS until we guarantee support.

We will keep you update to this new version.

Best regards

Sabrina
