Talend Open Studio Installation hangs on Apple M2 chip

Hi

Running Mac OS Monterey on a MacBook Air with M2 chip

Just downloaded the TOS_DI-20211109_1610-V8.0.1-osx-installer.dmg installer package but am encountering system hangs when following the directions on the https://help.talend.com/r/en-US/8.0/installation-guide-data-integration-windows/software-packages. page

I double-click the dmg file which results in the "Talend Open Studio for Data Inte" being mounted in /volumes

I then double-click "TOSDI-8.0.1-osx-installer.app" which results in nothing more than a system hang. I can see the CPU time increases to 99-100% but after many minutes nothing happens. I rebooted the Mac and tried a more manual approach by running installBuilder.sh manually through the shell but this resulted in the same behavior, high CPU utilization but no discernible installation routine.

Hi @Joe Genshlea,

Sorry about the delayed response. This sounds like a known issue with Monterey and our installer for TOS. However, you don't need to install Talend Studio as such, you can simply unzip it from the zip package. If you download the zip file and just unzip that, it will be fine.

Please be aware of the Java requirements for v8 before running the Studio. These can be found here....
