Upgrading RemoteEngine with Runtime connected

Hello,

I have an issue with upgrading Remote Engine when Runtime is used.

If I follow instructions and reinstall/repair the engine the TMC and Runtime become out of sync. TMC shows 0 deployments, while runtime has deployed routes and data services.

Is there a trick to upgrade Remote Engine without losing state or redeploying everything from scratch ??

Hello,

We are supposing that you have already checked this online documentation about: TalendHelpCenter: Upgrading and re-pairing Remote Engines and KB article about: https://community.talend.com/s/article/Steps-to-upgrade-a-Remote-Engine-izkGJ

As you need to stop the service/script of the existing/old Remote Engine and uninstall the old Remote Engine, you could have to redeploy your routes and data services.

Best regards

Sabrina

Hi Sabrina,

I have also the same question. A little late reaction 🙂

Is it possible to sync the new remote engine with the still running runtime?

The way to do it now, is to deploy the routes in the runtime (it actually then undeploys en deploys the routes)

Is there a trick to do it in a much easier way?? Or does the remote engine store this information internally and is lost after the upgrade...

I am using runtime 7.3.1

Best regards

Marius
