I have installed di open studio on windows 6.3.1
when defining a connection to db2 luw - product still requests the license file for db2 connect (z/db2 or as400/db2)
I try to setup a connecttion to db2 linux - this driver is free and installed
is this all the free support you get from talend.. i am happy I did not payed the license for talend yet... we probably have to select anoyher product.. received many mails from marketing.. I will assign someone.. someone will have a look... promises.. no contact ...
I can not get this product to work with db2..
what the problem?
1) all related XML files:
2) change true for false
3) be happy

and You sure You not forget revert this if will need?
cp db2jcc4.jar db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar cp db2jcc4.jar db2jcc_license_cu.jar
Hello,
Thanks for posting your issue here.
Talend Studio requires specific third-party Java libraries or database drivers (.jar files) to be installed to connect to sources and targets. Those libraries or drivers, known as external modules, can be required by some of Talend components or by some connection wizards or by both. Due to license restrictions, Talend may not be able to ship certain external modules within Talend Studio.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards
Sabrina
thanks for the update, but I think you don not understand my issue..although it is in English
I fully understand that you can not supply all drivers
I installed required files - as documented by IBM and this working for ALL other products.
your product is requesting files that are completely NOT needed, only if you connect to Z/db2 or 400/db2, and this is NOT my case, i connect to linux/db2
the connection can NOT be defined as this message requires the files to be installed - which in that case would require a license.
the driver files for LUW are FREE and everybody can download them for FREE
I hope this is more clear..
best regards, Guy
Hi,
We know your problem about the jar files db2jcc_licence_cisuz.jar and db2jcc_licence_cu.jar.
Could you try to create a "Generic JDBC connection" in the connection wizard and use your own JDBC driver therein(db2jcc4.jar)?
So far, there is a jira issue about:https://jira.talendforge.org/browse/TUP-1615
Feel free to post your issue on talend bug tracker.
Best regards
Sabrina
If you install IBM Data Studio - http://www-03.ibm.com/software/products/da/data-studio - you will find the driver. On Linux it resides in <installdir>/DS4.1.1/dsdev/jar
Note
You must not use this driver to connect to mainframe DB2 without a valid licence.

all possible ... but because it is was Your last post ... and look like You already leave product
we will be bored 🙂
thanks for the update : BUT
the problem is NOT getting the driver - these can be downloaded from IBM for free
the problem is talend product requesting drivers that are NOT for free AND NOT needed for this type of connection
best regards, Guy Przytula
Sure, but this is not biggest issue of Talend to be a reason stop use product 🙂
yes, it is well knowing "problem" migrated from version to version ... but ...
Hi,
I want to connect Talend to IBM DB2. Talend requires 3 jar as you know. I don't find the db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar. Can you help me, please?
thank's
this jar is part of db2 connect license and not for free
talend should NOT request this file if connecting to luw database, only if connecting to z/db2 or db2/400 which is not my case either
they claim it is a known bug, but not corrected yet..
still waiting (for weeks)
best regards, Guy
