db2 connection

last post before leaving this product ...

I have installed  di open studio on windows  6.3.1

when defining a connection  to db2 luw - product still requests the  license file for db2 connect (z/db2 or as400/db2)

I try to setup a connecttion to db2 linux - this driver is free and installed

is this all the free support you get from talend..  i am happy I did not payed the license for talend yet... we probably have to select anoyher product..  received many mails from marketing.. I will assign someone.. someone will have a look...   promises..   no contact ...

I can not get this product to work with db2..

Hi Guy,

I work with DB2 since 6.0, sure it same and early

Think it little misunderstanding - where You are.

There are no Talend staff there, Sabrina not a technical staff, some time Shong answer, but I do not know Talend rotations.

All other there - community members, same as You or me. Some of them extremely experienced.

"Open Source Community Edition" mean not only free, but as well - supported by community members.

So, when I saw Your message - I answer ... may be little with humour 😉 but it because You start Your post very serious ... like leave You product or not related to us (open You a secret - on other side of world - for me it absolutely ... not important 🙂 )

If You have subscription version, or test trial or have definitely error - use Jira for open ticket

Forum it more for share ideas, tricks, experience, but not a channel by Talend Support

For all question what I ask there or old version of forum - the best what I receive from Talend, it was:
"Your question transferred to Our ESB expert" ... and never answers more 🙂

But I meet there other people, found a lot of ideas for me when I start use Talend

I read forum near 4 years, and answer only 1 - a lot of answers already there, just need search before write, including answer about DB2, because this I also found somewhere on old forum in comments and test, may be not clean and easy and I add few own iterations for found solution ...

low priority for tasks, sure because it not extremely popular product. AS400 DB2 work like charm with Talend, mainframe is also all on support, so the problem have a small number of clients who use LUW in production with Talend ... and this is not a big number of them who not resolve the problem

Best regards, Vlad

Thank you for the answer.

I've edited all entries related to xml files for the JAR: CISUZ because I have the two others jar DB2JCC4 AND DB2JCC...CU:

TMondrianInput_java: cisuz required = false
TDB2BulkExec_java: cisuz required = false
TDB2Connection_java: cisuz required = false
TDB2Input_java: cisuz required = false
TDB2Output_java: cisuz required = false
TDB2Row_java: cisuz required = false
TDB2SCD_java: cisuz required = false
TDB2SCDELT_java: cisuz required = false
TDB2SP_java: cisuz required = false

And in the others two xml file:
MavenUriIndex
tCreateTable_java

I commented the import of jar cisuz.

I attach a screenshot to show the result. The problem is the same. If I go to create a new connection to db2, Talend ask me the "cisuz" jar0683p000009Luni.png.

if You want use metadata connection - just copy one file to other and install

Talend not use this files - just check

Guy absolutely right - it stupid error with many years history 😉

but at least it not stop real work

You mean that when I create a db2 connection and Talend ask me for the "cisuz" Jar I can attach the db2jcc4 jar?

from my original post You miss 1 part:

need more? (want use Repo connection meta-data?)
and You sure You not forget revert this if will need?

cp db2jcc4.jar db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar

cp db2jcc4.jar db2jcc_license_cu.jar

You can copy

db2jcc_license_cu.jar to db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar

in case if You have 2 from 3

Ok thanks, I did not understand that with "copy" it is mean that the db2jcc must be passed to Talend when it ask db2jcc...cisuz.jar.

Thank you for the reply
