installed di 6.4 but the problem with the 64 bit version is still NOT resolved - same as before - java error 1
32 bit can be started ....

You can not start talend 64 bit application with your 64 bit JDK? What's the error message in studio log?
What's OS and JDK version you are using? Does this issue repro on V 6.3?

Could you please make sure that you download and install the JDK, not the JRE?
Does your path to the studio and to the workspace contain spaces?
