BIOS Settings For Best Performance On QlikView Server And QlikView Publisher

We have compiled useful guidance on hardware and settings.ini settings that may help improve the overall performance of your QlikView environment.

Please note that BIOS settings may differ by manufacturer and model. Review manuals and other online content for equivalents to the information provided below.

The following settings are recommended to set in BIOS for QlikView Server:

Setting/Configuration Value/Information


Disabled (most architectures), Enabled (2 socket Intel E5-XXXX architectures)

Power Management (Power profile)

Max performance (BIOS and windows setting)

Node Interleaving

Enabled (i.e. NUMA disabled), see below for further information

Intel Turbo Boost

Enabled (when present)

Memory configuration

Configured for best performance, see below for further information

If NUMA can't be disabled with BIOS settings, please see QlikView Server Settings For NUMA Performance Improvement for how to adjust QlikView Server settings. 

The following hardware recommendations should be taken into consideration:

  • Memory - Evenly distributed over available slots (i.e. same amount of RAM per CPU) and populated in accordance with hardware manufacturer recommendations

If QlikView Publisher runs on a separate server, make the following changes to the above:

  • Hyper-threading - Enabled
  • Node Interleaving - Disabled
