Error(s) in logs when adding rim node to new Qlik Sense install such as the following:

Could not connect to database. Make sure that the database service is running and accepting connections, that database QSR exists and that the password for user 'xxxxxx.com\qlikservice' is correct

CustomAction CA_ConnectToSharedPersistenceDb returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

Environment:

Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows

The Rim node cannot communicate with the Central node.

To resolve this,

  1. Verify that the database is set up to correctly accept connections. See How to configure Qlik Sense to use a standalone PostgresSQL database on general configuration advice.
  2. Ensure that the Qlik Sense Setup file is executed from a directory where the Service Account has full access permissions and there are no network restrictions.

For example: The Qlik Sense Setup file has been saved on different drives (D:/, E:/, etc.) that have restrictions for public networks, even when running with Administrative privileges.
