In order to avoid unnecessary error and logging, QlikView services should be started and stopped in a recommended order. (Not mandatory)

Starting:

  1. QlikView Directory Service Connector
  2. Qlik Service Dispatcher (if available)
  3. QlikView Distribution Service
  4. QlikView Management Service
  5. QlikView Server
  6. QlikView Web Server / QlikView Settings Service

Stopping:

  1. QlikView Server
  2. QlikView Service Dispatcher (if available)
  3. QlikView Directory Service Connector
  4. QlikView Distribution Service
  5. QlikView Management Service
  6. QlikView Web Server / QlikView Settings Service

Can you someone tell if this order is still the same for 12.5 SR2  ( April 2020 )

I was speaking to the support person on call who told me the QMS should be started first and give a minute for the rest to start , next to follow in line is QDS....

@shravan  This is still a valid start order.

Note that there is no required start order (unlike in Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows, where some services depend on one being started already). QlikView has no requirements between the services.

This start order listed here is designed to minimize unnecessary errors logged since some services will try and see if others are up, but it has no impact on functionality.

Booting the QMS up first will have it check for the other services and start logging errors, but will have no negative effect on the system.
