Put the App in the directory with other apps accessed by Qlik Sense Desktop.
open the app in data load editor (DLE).
make any minor change that forces you to save the app.
save the app
import the App into the Central Node QMC
The same steps (import the app, modify it slightly and re-export it again) can also be attempted on a SaaS tenant.
Should the issue still persists, repeat the steps above by gradually removing elements from the app in the Desktop Client, until the one causing the issue is found. Should this still not solve the issue, proceed with further troubleshooting.
I'm 18 months late, but maybe this will help someone else.
This would happen consistently for an app of mine when trying to import from Qlik Sense Desktop to Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows Server.
I was able to import my app only after removing all of the data connections from the app on Qlik Sense Desktop, making a small change to the data load editor script (such as adding a comment) and then saving the app.
The key seems to be to removing the data connections before trying to import.
