Accessing, duplicating, or exporting an app leads to the error:

An error occurred
App not found

Environment

  • Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows

This article lists the most common root causes and solutions to the App not found error.

Is the app available on disk?

Verify it the Qlik Sense app is available in the expected folder. For information on how you have configured your Service Cluster and app location, see Service Cluster.

Can the end user access the app?

Verify the Security Rules and that the user has the correct Read and Create permissions for both the hub and QMC.

Restart the Qlik Sense services

Restart the services. Then duplicate or export the app again.

Restore the app

It may be necessary to restore an earlier version of the app in case of app corruption.

Review your anti-virus settings

The Qlik Sense log files may show:

Could not lock file [QlikShare\Apps\5458230E-25FB-4BF6-B189-FAFB155AC0A5.lock] [The system cannot find the file specified.]

This indicates that a virus scan or other security software is interfering with files stored in the Qlik Sense App folders. See Qlik Sense Folder And Files To Exclude From AntiVirus Scanning for details.
