Qlik Cloud App Size and License Type

Dear.

I am in inquiring about Qlik Cloud App Capacity.

Question 1) App Size and Count

The table shows the supported app size when the total large app capacity is 20, 40, or 50 GB.
(ref : https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/Admin/large-app-support....

qlik cloud guardrails.png

: Does this sentence mean that 1 app size can be 5, 10, or up to 50GB?
Otherwise there are 10 apps, does it mean that the total size of 10 apps can be 50GB?

:What is mean 'Engine hypercube memory limit'?

Question 2) App Size

:The app makes it into a temporary Temp Table in the modeling process, expands to 7GB in the process of concatenate, and then the finally the app becomes 2GB in size.

what size is app at that case?

Question 3) Qlik Cloud License

: If a customer has about 50 apps and about 20 apps have 2GB or more, what license should Qlik Cloud purchase?

Question 4) Ensuring performance

: How will performance be guaranteed if the calculation formula is very complicated for a 2GB-sized app?

Do you have a guide to Qlik Cloud performance?

A Client hope to move QSEW to Qlik Cloud.
They have many large size apps. so they are inquires about Qlik Cloud capacity.

Best Regard

Hello @hanna_choi ,

the standard limit is "for app". So, in Enterprise you can have how many apps you want to, as long as they are not over 10GB each.
With Large app engines there is a double limit: the total large apps limit (which is what you decide to buy: for instance 200GB) and the single app limit, which is 50GB.

The "Engine Hypercube memory limits" limits how much memory a hypercube evaluation can allocate during a request (for instance: the calculations needed to display a single chart). With standard capacity, the limit is 10GB, and that means that if a chart requires more than 10GB of calculation memory, it will result in invalid visualization. With large apps, the limit on app size and purchased data capacity.

For the app that grows during a reload, before settling to the final size, you should consider the "Peak reload memory" limit.

As for the license to buy, it depends on whether you need support for large apps. Premium or Enterprise might be enough, if your apps are within the limit. Please note: the limit is about memory footprint, not file size on disk. In-memory, one up can grow up to 3-6 times the file size on disk, depending on the the data model and other factors.

Finally, make sure to follow all best practices when it comes to app development, to make sure that the data model and the objects are optimised.

We have resources available on the Qlik Design blog.

You can also use tools like the app performace evaluator on Qlik Cloud, or get assistance from Qlik's professional services to run a SaaS readiness app for your client managed environment.
