not possible to upload apps in Qlik Saas

We had Qlik Sense on-prem from the beginning and went over to Qlik Saas. Now the license for Qlik Sense on-prem has expired and I do not have access to the environment at all besides files on the Qlik server. I found Apps in the Qlik folder, but it is not possible to upload it in Qlik Saas. I have tested with different size, but it doesn’t work.

How can you see what is the fault, where can I find the error log in SaaS version, what can be wrong with the files, why is it not possible to read?

Is there any way to access the script in the app if I can't upload it in Qlik?

I have resolved it by extending the license on- prem and export apps from QMC .

Hard to say what exactly is wrong here. You mentioned you found these apps in the 'Apps' folder in your Qlik environment. Are they in .qvf format or are they named like a string of characters (e.g. be507126-7a42-4f3e-900f-dadbea3844d8)  with the 'File' extension type?

If they are in .QVF format, there is an 'Events' section in the Management Console that would list an app being imported. The successful event type is "com.qlik.app.created".

If they are App Binaries (string of characters with 'File' extension type) you could try adding .qvf to the end of the filename and see if that lets you import. This will likely be a painful process as you may not know what the proper name of the app should be.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help!

The main problem is that when I try to upload the file in Qlik SaaS it fails.

I don't have access to environment for Qlik Sense (the earlier version on premises ) but I have access to server with files(Qlik Server), and it's the App Binaries I have access to and I have added .qvf to the file but when I trying to upload it in Saas it failed. I see it starts to upload (green color) and then it's fails.  I have migrated apps to SaaS version before the license period has expired, by extracting apps via QMC from Qlik Sense on premises and then imported files to Qlik SaaS version and it works fine but not now.

And even so,  I have copied files from this map, added .qvf to the end of this file and uploaded in Qlik Sense on premises and it worked fine before, it's just now when license has expired it is encrypted and won't let me use those files in the new SaaS version. It's the only one app I need access to.

Another thing you could try would be to install Qlik Sense Desktop and attempt to open and save the binary file you converted to a QVF. After doing so and confirming you can open the app, attempt to import it again into Qlik SaaS.

Edit: I should add you should be able to either Drag and Drop the app into Qlik Sense Desktop or move it to the Apps folder for Qlik Sense Desktop, default: C:\Users\<YOUR USER>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps
