Color by Dimension

When I try to put an expression in color by dimension, it won't let me use my own custom colors. Why?

You can do this if you create it as a master dimension.

Can I do this in Qlik Cloud? A tech company set up a site for me using Qlik sense, and the cloud version is what I have access to. Would the tech company have to create a master dimension for me? Is it even possible to create a master dimension in Qlik Cloud?
