Hi everyone,
I have Qlik Sense server in an especific server here in my company. Let's call it server 1.
Then, i have another server, which i read some folders from it. Let's call it server 2.
Problem is:
I can access folders in server 2. There was one case that i didn't have permission to access one folder from the server 2, and then i asked IT to grant access to qliksense.srv user, so i could create this connection.
It happens that the same thing happened, and now, even though qliksense.srv CAN access this other folder, i cannot create a connection in it.
You guys have any tip?
Thanks,
Fernando
I can't! Even though the qliksense.srv does has access to this folder, i am not able to create that connection. Any hints?
Guys, tried everything detailed in your answers, with no success yet
Hi Fernando,
Sorry for the delay - these types of things are hard to troubleshoot when you are not on site.
Check out this embedded video, I posted it on YouTube under my personal account as unlisted. It is about 5 min long. I created this to show you what I did to get this to work and maybe this will better help us understand the problem or perhaps provide some solution.
When applicable please mark the appropriate replies as CORRECT. Michael!
So gentle of you to record a video just to help me out. Thanks a lot!
With your help, I discovered the problem:
The QlikSense user actually had access to that folder. But he was included in a especific group in the server 1, which the server 2 couldn't look at. I just asked IT here to grant access to the qliksense.srv itself, and don't just insert it in a group. After that, i was able to manage the connection.
Again, thanks a lot, buddy.
Fernando
AWESOME, this is great to hear, glad I could be of assistance.
If you know me by now - I LOVE THE POWER of VIDEO! New to Qlik Sense Videos

the video listed as the solution for this post is no longer available....
this thread has been viewed over 11,000 times, and the solution is no longer present.
can this be updated? thanks!
also --- what folder permissions are required for a qlik data connection to be made? does the service account have to have full control on the folder, for the server to be able to use the connection? Does the user that creates the connection need to have full control over the folder ?
