Data Architect Certification question

Can someone explain me this point from knowledge and abilities document of QSDA certification.

Design Data Models (28% of the exam)
• Use various methods and explain considerations for connecting to different types of data sources

As per my knowledge the exam does not test ask you to connect to various data sources. Does this point means conencting the data source from data load editor?

Please help me.

You don't have to physically connect to data within the exam, but it asks questions about data that comes from different sources, data of different sizes and data of varying complexity. In order to understand and answer these questions, you'll want to have experience doing these different types of tasks in the various scenarios.

I hope that makes sense and helps explain it a bit.
