Edit Data Model from another user

Hello erverybody,

I got a question, which hopefully is easy to solve.

We are using Qlik in our Company and my college has created a few apps based on a data model which she has created. Now my college is leaving the company and I will take over. We now got the problem, that I have no access to the data model that she created. I mean, I can have a look at the data model if I click on "Data" on the App. But with this view I can´t edit the data modell, is that correct?

So how can I for example get more data in this existing data model to create new sheets.

Or how could I crate a new App, butt with the existing data model my college created?

I hope that somone can help me out with this one, cause it is a major issue and I couldn´t find anything in the manuals.

Thank you a lot 😉

Greetings

Fabio

Thank you Chris. We are working with Qlik Sense, so that one is different from the destop version I guess.

I found the solution now. You just need to copy the existing app. Then it´s in my personal working space and I can edit the data model...

Have a good weekend and thank you for the reply

Hi,

In Qlik Sense Desktop I see 3 things (below);

Data manager - allows you to add data through UI steps (I came from a QlikView background so never really use this)

Data load editor - shows you script automatically created by the Data manager UI steps, plus allows modifications

Data model viewer - shows you what the data loaded into the model looks like (tables, associations etc.)

Is that what you see?

Assuming it is the problem with diving into the top 2, which should let you change the model and reload data would be it is easy to break what is there.

Have you looked at any of the tutorials for creating your own apps from scratch? That might help you to understand what you then find when you look under the hood of your colleagues app.

Cheers,

Chris.
