Establish a new variable on a published app

Hi to all,

I would ask if there's any way to create a custom rule to establish a new variable on a published app.

Acutally with QlikSense's standard rule it possibile only re-publishing the intersted app.

Regards and thanks for your support,

Giuliano.

Hey!

if you're not afraid to crash your data loader I would be interested to see if this works on other people's QlikSense.

Keep in mind we are usin QlikSense Server June 2018 and this could be version specific behaviour.

Here's what we did:

Open your app and open your data load editor to two different browser sheets

In your data load editor, create a call to a non-existing  function eg. Call function_crash_loader;

Now click Load Data which will stop mid-reaload with some message "error with Call function_crash_loader"

Optional: You can now remove/comment the created function and make a reload to completion

Go to your browser sheet with the app and refresh your browser.

In Edit mode, you should now see the variables button on the bottom left.

Done. I'm eager to know if anyone else can make this dirty solution work.

Sincerely,

Teemu

Great solution. I could it make work as well. It is for us important since we develop on published apps. The "My work" stream is just not appropriate for multi-user development and grouping apps.
