Hi All,
I am curious if I could change the usual https://servername/hub url address for something else for example https://servername or https://qlik etc.
I know I could create a cname and point to the address, but some of the users are not able to do it.
Any idea?
Thanks,
G
Hi Gergo, sorry for misunderstanding - I believe what you are looking for can be found within the proxy configuration.
Check this link out to the doc for creating a new virtual proxy
Here is a simple one I just created using "gergo" as the prefix (note I have anonymous access enabled)
http://ec2-23-21-18-212.compute-1.amazonaws.com/gergo
Proxies -> Central Proxy->check Virtual Proxies on the right to enable the section:
Then add your prefix and a unique session name, note the screenshots below: (click to enlarge)
OK and Apply
You should then be able to access the hub using the prefix you entered.
Hope this helps

Hi Gergo - I thought I replied to this yesterday, I guess it did not submit - or there was a problem, sorry for the delay.
There is a file named: Host.cfg located in <drive>:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense
It has a base64 encoded string which when decoded you can see the hostname the product was installed on:
You can use this free online tool to decode and encode the string:
You can edit the Host.cfg and replace the encoded string with another encoded string and restart your services.
so - mynewhostname - will look like this in the Host.cfg file: bXluZXdob3N0bmFtZQ==
Note: When I did this (because my Amazon EC2 instanced had a hostname change) - it worked but - for some reason in the QMC it showed my scheduler and proxies as stopped even though they were running. You may have to restart the individual services (scheduler and proxy) a 2nd time again to get the notifications to clear in the QMC.
Hope this helps

Hi Gergo, your last comment did not come through - it was empty with two attached blank images. I deleted it. Can you reply again?
Mike
Hi Michael,
Thanks for your email.
I didn't mean to change the server name I would like to do something like change the URL like
http://serevername/hub to http://servername or http://servername/entry somthing like that.
Not many of our customers can create CNAME records...
Any idea?
Thanks,
G

Hi Michael,
I also want to change my QlikSense Hub address. How can I do that? I followed the steps that you mentioned but couldn't successfull. Can you explain from step 1 to step last?
My current hub address https://bi.alpha.com/ and i want to change to https://bi.beta.com
Regards,
Ali
Hi Ali - I just saw this - do you still need assistance with this? If so can you open a NEW discussion, as this one is dated and some things have changed since then.
Thanks
