How to reference calculated fields?

How do I reference calculated fields in other calculated fields?

For example: Let's say I have a calculated field for GROSS_PROFIT =  SUM(GROSS_SALES)-SUM(EXPENSES) in a Master Measure.

Now let's say I want to create a new calculated field as NET_PROFIT =  SUM(GROSS_PROFIT)-SUM(TAXES) by using  the GROSS_PROFIT calculated field as a component of the new calculated field.

I have a sheet with lot of formulas each that build upon the previous one. One of the formulas took 39 lines because I had recreate the whole thing with all the components instead of creating a few calc fields and referencing those calc fields. Had I been able the create calc fields and reference each one, that formula would have been 6 lines.
