Load All Data into Table Object?

I have a table object (non-pivot) with about 100 rows. However, when the user scrolls down the table, eventually the table ends and a Load More button appears which the user has to click in order to see the rest of the rows.

This is very annoying to users who just want to continuously scroll through the data, especially when a bar chart on the same page shows all 100 bars at once. Is there any way to force the table to load all of the data at once?

I was also thinking maybe the computer's memory or internet connection? Perhaps there are certain thresholds that determine how the data in the table gets loaded. Maybe your machine is very fast and loads content as you scroll, but other people with slower computers or on slower networks have to initiate the load manually.

+1 on this - Please can someone from Qlik get an answer for this, it's very frustrating for the user. I don't believe it happened in the Chrome browser but it's certainly happening in Edge.

This is very frustrating.

Could it be a feature designed for touch screens?

For me, the 'Load more' button appears on my Surface and touch-enabled Citrix, but not my desktop.

I agree it would be nice to turn this on/off.

What type of devices are you using? It seems to me that if I use a laptop or desktop I don't get the load more button, but when I use my Microsoft Surface or a smart phone the button appears.

This is standard behavior if you have a touchscreen. Including laptops, tablets and phones.

perhemst‌ has hit the nail on the head here.  The functionality kicks in when you are using a device with a touch screen, even if that device is running on an external monitor with a mouse plugged in.

The Load More button is intensely frustrating, but there are other differences too, which are equally as bad.  For instance, if you are on a non-touch device then you get hover boxes when you move your mouse over a chart - these are missing on touch.  One of my biggest bug bears though is when you click on the magnifying glass on a Filter Pane with a non-touch device you can then start typing your search straight away, on a touch device you then need an extra click before you can start searching - a small thing perhaps but ever time I have to do that extra click it annoys me - there is simply no need for this.

On the QlikView Access Point when you go into an app on a touch enabled device it pops up a dialog which asks whether you want to use the touch interface.  Having to click this each time is a big annoying, but at least once you have done it the choice is remembered for that session.

If anyone knows how to turn off this touch functionality then please post here.

Cheers,

Steve

As you would probably expect, gwassenaar‌ came up with a solution for this on Twitter:

Gysbert Wassenaar on Twitter: "I reckon Sense should respect system settings. If you don't want touc...

It's not ideal, as it involves crippling your touchscreen in the Windows Device Manager, but it does get the job done.

Hopefully Qlik will provide a fix so that such as drastic measure is not required in order to use their software sensibly.

Thanks again Gysbert.

The fix for this is finally on it's way in a future release. The feature is already live on Qlik Cloud.

Hi everyone

I realise that this is an old thread. But I also got very frustrated with this and after reading through the comments in this thread I looked at the Menu in my app and saw that Touch screen mode was on for some reason. By turning this off the behaviour in the app returned to normal. This option was probably not available in the release when this thread was started, but thought it could maybe help someone else in future.

Regards,

Mauritz
