Qlik Sense Cloud access through VPN

Hi all,

we think about starting Qlik Cloud as main tool for BI in company. Qlik sense desktop works good but we can't connect to our database with Qlik cloud. I guess we need VPN tunnel for this stuff. Is it possible to do this with Qlik cloud? I tried to google with no luck.

Hi @vondravl , @Rolands ,

You can use Qlik Data Transfer for this. It allows for transferring data files, QVFs and also ODBC connections.

You can download it here.

Tnaks you @JordyWegman .

QDT looks very promising. The main problem with this is that I API key in Qlik Cloud can be generated max for one day!

I wasn't able to solve the VPN issue and I don't know why, but your link for downloading Qlik Data Transfer leads to QlikView Personal edition. Not quite what I would expected. Do we miss license for qlik data transfer?

Did you find the Qlik DataTransfer 'tab'?

@Rolands, yes sadly it's only for a day.. We probably want something that is a bit longer..

There's a lot to consider when making the switch to Qlik Cloud. It sounds like you're on the right track in terms of research. As for your specific question, it is possible to connect to your database with Qlik Cloud using a VPN tunnel. There are several resources available online that can help you set this up. thunder vpn windows might come in handy in your scenario. By the way, it's completely free! Once you have your VPN set up, you'll be able to access your database and use Qlik Cloud to its full potential. I hope this helps!
