Hi,
Currently we have 3 node set-up with one central node and 2 rim nodes. We also have a common file server (SAN) mounted on each of the nodes for qvd and qvf files. All the nodes are physical windows machines with local discs. The file server has SAN storage which is mounted on each of nodes.
We now need to make a DR setup where each of the nodes get replicated. For the file server the replication is working for the SAN storage. But for the other nodes we have been advised to move the Qlik installations to SAN disks which can get replicated. Since we already have a working setup is there a way to migrate this to SAN disks without much downtime. Also any issues if the installation is not done in the standard C:\Program Files and C:\ProgramData folders?
-thanks
Sanjeev
Hi,
Using SAN for the local disks to then replicate them to other machines will most likely be causing issues as some files in programdata\qlik are containing unique values such as for example the host.cfg which is an encoded value from the server hostname. Other sense files are also using the certificate hash that is unique to the machine it was first created on.
Regarding the question of if the installation can be done on drives other than C:\, yes it can.
Hope this could help.
