Reduce margins of text fields

How can I reduce the margins of text fields?

I have a text field, but text is barely visible because half of the field goes to waste because of the margins.

(how) can I get rid of these margins? I just want to use the area of the text field and I don't need an application to decide for me how much spuch I can have.

strange! the 'border' option is not available here:

I understood it could have something to do with the Qlik Sense version we are using. We are not on the latest/newest version and I wonder what the first version of QS is that has this border outline option  available.
