Hi all,

Did any body tried section access in Qlik Sense desktop , I tried with a simple inline script with a reduction field and got an error,

SA.png

I think section access in Qlik Sense is only handled from Qlik sense server, can any release a primer or help for this.

Thank You.

Hi Kiran,

Your thoughts are correct, section access in NOT IMPLEMENTED in Qlik Sense Desktop.

In regards to the scheduler component, also part of Qlik Sense Server, that is needed most likely to execute (load the app) and prepare it got the SA security in an automated fashion.

If I come across more information - I will send it along. Note that you would need Qlik Sense server in order to test however.

Hi Gysbert,

first of all thanks that my question got into picture the top blogger of qlik.

I have knowledge on SA in QV  and tried in QS desktop but I got the error which I posted.

I am not sure that We can do SA in QS desktop, if so how to do it from Qliksense server.

I even got a message that intrenal/SA SCHEDULER has to be used.

hope you have understood.

Thanks

Kiran

You can use Qlik Sense Server to develop and/or modify your documents too. You're not limited to Qlik Sense Desktop for that. If I understand things correctly you will need Qlik Sense Desktop if you want to convert .qvw documents to the Qlik Sense .qvf format, but otherwise you can work from the Qlik Sense Server hub.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the immediate response, I actually have a demo license of QS server and we are the using QV desktop licensed along with Qlikview server And I am on a POC of earlier qvw into qvf. If u can share me the things what I have to do from server end or a document explaining section access would be helpful.

Thanks
