Tags - Use Cases

Hi All

QS tags are great and can be used for many purposes. I hope by starting this thread we can get an idea of some possible use cases that different development teams use them for. Or from Qlik too.

To get this started I am using them to tag apps by their environment to then identify the tag in the script and determine which data connections to use - highly flexible as you can then plug in QVS and QVD files from both higher and lower environments.

Hi Andrew,

I use tags to identify apps by project so that I know which apps to reload.  It's an easy way of marking the QVD-generation apps and visualization apps that are used within each project.

In my last job we had an idea around using tags for flagging apps with sensitive GDPR data too - for extra due diligence around their deployment and management.

Another possible use case could be tags referring to source systems, so that any apps based on data coming from a source that is due to be changed can be identified.
