In general, when an antivirus scans a file/folder it locks it from another party access. That means, when antivirus is performing a scan qlik view/sense (or any other third party s/w) can't access it, and it has to wait for unlock to happen before it can access the file. Therefore, antivirus sometimes can cause performance issue, i.e. - taking more time perform an action like reload. Apart from this, antivirus can take up significant amount of resources of system hardware as well which can result in performance issue too.

Exclusion in antivirus could be set up by excluding certain folders from scan-scope. Google to find how to exclude.
