changing the data format from number to date in the data manager editor

When I uploaded the data from the excel my date column of the data is changed to number. when I tried to change it by the drop option at the column header its changing to null value. How to do it without creating a new column data in the raw data ?
You can try to use a different format in your Excel, but you can't change it in the Data Manager. For this you do need to make a new column and use the Date() function.
If I make a new column, every time if I concatenate new data do I need to update that column or It will automatically calculate the value for the new data which I added in the Data model?
Yes in my date column in excel is set to date format only. when I upload the data that specific column is changing to number. The other columns which are also in date format in excel are same in my data manager.
