Button Size Format

Is there a way to standardize the size of the font throughout different buttons on a sheet (make the font size appear the same throughout the different buttons)?

Hello,

If my understanding is correct, you are using the Button chart in your application's sheets and you would like to keep the same button font size on all buttons. In this case, this is not possible, because the button's font size depends on various factors such as size of the button, how big is the text within the button and font size configuration. This means that if you use a huge phrase, the button will try to adjust the font of it to ensure that the entire phrase is clearly visible and readable, taking into consideration how big is the button it self.

You can test this by following the steps:

  1. Create a new button 2x12
  2. Go to Appearance > Font styling and make the font size as big as it can get:
  3. You will notice that the button has the Label "Button" and it is clearly visible
  4. However if you change the text to something like "This is a very big text for this button"
  5. You will notice that the font size is not the same as the previous one, although the configuration still shows that you have selected the biggest value for font size.
  6. This is happening, because Qlik Sense is trying to adjust the font size of the label so that the text inside is clearly visible.
  7. Selecting the font size from the sidebar option, doesn't assign a specific value for the font size, it just adjust the size of the label taking into consideration that the text is also still fully readable.

To summarize this information:

  1. Selecting font size for the button doesn't assign specific value for the font size, but adjust the size so it gets bigger or smaller but also makes sure that it is always readable.
  2. The size of the font also depends on how big is the button. So the same styling configuration works differently for 1x3 button and for 6x24 button.
  3. You can create a Feature Request [1] if you want, to have an option that will set the font size of the button to specific font size and will ignore how huge is the phrase or how big is the button.
  4. Or if you want for the buttons to have more or less the same font size, you can try keeping the same size for all the buttons and then if one button is bigger or smaller, you can adjust the font size option of that button to match (approximately) the font size of the other buttons.

I hope that this information was helpful! In case I have misunderstood the use case scenario, please elaborate in detail by providing further information.
