Qliksense Button - Actions and Navigation - Select values matching search criteria not visible

Hi,

I am trying to implement an actions based out of a condition on timestamp. I think I understand that this will be implemented through "Select values matching search criteria". But I cannot see this option in side my hub. Screenshot attached.

Any idea on the fact if this should be enabled from somewhere or may be I am using an older version and it was introduced in later versions ?

Attaching a screen shot where this option is not listed only

Hello,

This question was raised in another thread "Misted the option 'Select values matching search criteria' in button" [1], where the answer is: "The option was introduced in June 2020" [2]. This means that most probably you are using an outdated version of Qlik Sense

Additionally in the page "Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows Product Lifecycle" [3], you can find the support dates for each version. Upgrading your Qlik Sense version frequently, will ensure that you will always get support for the version that you are using in case it is needed and that you have all the latest features and fix releases.

I hope that this information was helpful. In case I have misunderstood the use case scenario, please elaborate in details by providing additional information. However, if it has helped you resolve the issue, please mark it as accepted solution to give further visibility to other community members.

Hello,

There might be some best practice advices that you can follow depending on the version of Qlik Sense that you already have and to which version you are trying to upgrade. You can check the official documentation page "Upgrading" [1], where depending on the version that you already have, it is stated which steps you should follow or what warnings you should keep in mind.

Additionally, here is one of my recommendations, which is especially helpful if you have complicated environment with a lot of apps etc.:

  1. If you want to be 100% sure that the version you are about to upgrade to, won't cause you any issues with your current apps, then you can install this version on a brand new clean machine
  2. Then you can migrate your apps one by one to the new environment and check if everything is working there as expected. This will ensure that your default environment is still up and running without any issues
  3. As soon as you confirm that the new environment is working as expected with your apps, you can start upgrading your default environment
  4. First you need to make sure that you upgrade gradually. For example, if you have Qlik Sense November 2020 and you want to upgrade to Qlik Sense February 2022, then it is better to first upgrade to February 2021, then to May 2021 etc. until you reach to February 2022. Because if you upgrade all the way from November 2020 to February 2022, then it might cause unexpected behavior since those two versions probably have major updates between them.
  5. To upgrade to the next version, all you have to do is to go to Qlik Community > Support > Product News > Downloads and download the version that you wan to upgrade to.
  6. The installation wizard will help you with steps
  7. NOTE: It is important to have all the passwords that you used when you have first installed the software as it will ask you for them during the upgrade
  8. NOTE: Make sure that you check the official documentation page [1], to ensure that the version you are upgrading from, doesn't have any particular steps that you need to follow.

I hope that this information is helpful!

Superb! I think that might be the case. Any idea where can I find a solution to upgrade my Qliksense version ? I mean I haven't done it yet, so a predefined process written somewhere will really help.
