creating and using variables and passing those values

I created a variable for Calendar Year. Upon a user clicking any year it will display data visualizations. It is working very well. My issue is when I go to other sheets, that same year that was selected off the buttons/variables are not passed over. Is there a way to create this link so that upon a user selecting a CY button will transition over to a different sheet within the app?

Both variables and field selections are constants in an app session. What I mean by this is they should be the same regardless which sheet you are on in an app. It should not be changing unless you are clearing or changing these during the sheet change which would require an action to be set up.
