Modifications done to configuration files (.config) in Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows may not be retained after an upgrade from one major (Initial Release) to another. Previous to the November 2022 release, this is working as expected.

After November 2022, Qlik Sense prompts during the upgrade if service settings are meant to be kept or discarded.

Keep current service settings.png

This applies to the following files:

  • %ProgramFiles%\Qlik\Sense\Repository\Repository.exe.config
  • %ProgramFiles%\Qlik\Sense\Proxy\Proxy.exe.config
  • %ProgramFiles%\Qlik\Sense\Scheduler\Scheduler.exe.config
  • %ProgramFiles%\Qlik\Sense\ServiceDispatcher\services.conf

See Considerations about custom configurations | Qlik Sense for administrators Help.

If the changes are discarded after the upgrade, even with the Keep current settings option was checked, verify that you are running the installer as administrator. See Upgrading a Qlik Sense node | Qlik Sense for administrators Help.
