Upgrade Qlik NodeGraph to Version to 3.x from previous versions
Environment
NodeGraph 3.x
1.Upgrading instructions
Follow the steps below for a successful upgrade.
1.1.Backup current settings Before getting started, we recommend creating a backup of your settings files mentioned below.
1.1.1. NodeGraphServer.exe.config This file is located in NodeGraph's installation directory (default C:\Program Files\TechLab10\NodeGraph). It contains possible changes to reserved ports, customized data folder, and authorization settings.
1.1.2. NLog.config This file is also stored in the installation directory (C:\Program Files\TechLab10\NodeGraph) and contains the settings for your logging locations and behavior.
1.1.3. Nodegraph.dat Under the Common Program Data folder (default C:\ProgramData\TechLab10\Nodegraph) you will find nodegraph.dat. This file contains all settings made to the environment through the interface. All container settings, connector configurations, DQM use cases, Field Tracker Report settings and so forth.
1.1.4. License.dat This is the license file which will be uploaded once the new version is installed. This is found under the Common Program Data folder (default C:\ProgramData\TechLab10\Nodegraph).
1.1.5. Baseline.dat This file is only present if you are licensed for and use the Data Quality Manger. The file will be found under the Common Program Data folder (default C:\ProgramData\TechLab10\Nodegraph) and will contain information about the Baseline tests saved under the Data Quality Manager module.
1.2.Uninstalling NodeGraph By uninstalling NodeGraph, all data under the installation directory, together with the service will be removed. The uninstaller will request a closing of the NodeGraph service, but if you want to ensure a proper shutdown, you can manually stop the service prior to uninstalling.
1.3. Installing NodeGraph Running the NodeGraph installer extracts the program files into the installation root directory and recreates the service under Microsoft Services as "NodeGraph Service".
Note that the service needs to be stopped and the credentials to the correct service account needs to be entered under “Log on as” on the service properties before continuing.
While the service is stopped restore the files mentioned above to their original locations. Now start the service and browse to the landing page of NodeGraph to verify that the installation is successful.
Note: Upgrading to version latest - 3.1.13 is mandatory before upgrading to Qlik NodeGraph Version 4.x
