The QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) is shown as disconnected in the QlikView Management Console. All QDS Windows services are running.
The Windows Event logs will show an error message similar to:
TriggerOrchestrator: An unexpected error occurred in CheckUnhandledTriggers.. Exception=System.Exception: Failed to open \\prdwqlvfil\QlikView\QDS\LoadBalancer.xml with Read access after 784 retries. Exceptions= || The process cannot access the file '\\servername\QlikView\QDS\LoadBalancer.xml' because it is being used by another process.
The likely root cause is a different process on the Distribution Service server which is blocking access to the loadbalancer.xml file. If the QDS itself cannot obtain a lock on the file, it will be shown as disconnected.
You can identify the process by using third party software such as Windows Process Monitor.
