QlikView task fails with failed to open document exception

A QlikView reload task fails with the error:
 

QDSMain.Exceptions.FailedDocumentCheckoutException: Failed to check out document with path

Resolution:

The exception indicates the file cannot be opened.

• Verify that the user account used to run the QlikView Distribution Service has full access to the file. 
• Verify that no AntiVirus scan or background backup process is locking the file
