Read an Excel file on SharePoint

Hello,

I need to read an excel file stored on sharepoint with Qlik Automation.

First, I list site then subsite, but when I get the subsite ID, I didn't find the way to list item in a subsite.

Can anyone know how to do this ?

Thanks

Open and Read file in the Cloud storage connectors will be implemented very soon for Sharepoint and Onedrive. For CSV or text files this will work fine.

Hi Paul,

Right now our Excel connector does not work with files stored on Sharepoint, it only works with files stored on a user's personal Onedrive. Not sure if this changes anytime soon.

A workaround will be possible very soon, we are extending our file connectors with functionality for Onedrive and Sharepoint. This would enable you to copy a file to Onedrive, read/edit the file and if necessary move it back to Sharepoint.

I'm not sure about the issue with listing items on a subsite. We have a block named List Drives from Site, you could try this for both the main site as well as the subsite. Then proceed by making use of the List items on Drive to list items inside these drives.

Let me know if this helps you.

Hello, Thanks for your response.

We can't use personnal drive for this use case cause the file must be available for several developpers.

My goal is to create Qlik Aplications if they don't exists (a kind of loop and reduce).

The list of applications is stored in a file, available on csv, txt, excel or other format.

I want to open this file,

read lines, store variable

create applications

Do you know if it is possible with the current version of automation (especially open and read a file) ?

Hello Mark,

I have a probem with the object Read Data From File on S3.

I can open a file when I test the block :

But when I want to use the output of this block in others blocks, for example in a condition :

I can't get the output value (even if I launch a test run or a normal run of my automation)

Is there a problem with my automation ?

Regards,

Paul

Hello Mark,

I resolve the issue by using the block in Cloud storage instead the blok in Amazon S3.

I have an other problem now, I can't use the Qlik blok "copy app"

Automation raises this error : Error calling endpoint "Qlik Cloud Services - Copy App"

Hi Mark,

what is currently the best way to pull data from an Excel stored in SharePoint?

What is more, the file is not secured. I mean I don't need a user\pass to open the file. I just click the link and the excel file opens up. Yet, It seems you have to authenticate while using Office 365 sharepoint connector.
