Looking for the Open API

Hello!

Our team is looking at integrating Qlik into our application and I understand that there is an API which can be used for this purpose.  Can someone point me to examples, documentation, whatever else would be useful in order to learn how to do this? 

If I asked this question in the wrong forum, can someone please point me to the correct resource?
