Bug when editing tasks containing transforms

Is there a known bug, issue, or workaround for tasks containing a transform? Every time I create new columns via a transform and run some tests I cannot go back and get my edits to save on the task/transform. I have tried stopping, saving, stop/save together, etc, and it will even let me make changes, but when I click save and go back to review my changes (before starting the task again) the changes never take. I caught this when I pressed save and ran a task that ended up not doing what was expected, so it doesn't seem just running the task after saving fixes anything either.

Thanks

Hi @nahowe

What is the full version number of Qlik Replicate you are running? We'll need this to be able to check for fixes.

Could you please try clearing browser cache/cookies etc. and see if that helps?

Thanks,

Dana

Hi @nahowe

After adding your transformations to include new columns, export the task as a JSON file and open it in a text editor to verify if the changes are present. It's possible the task may have crashed, which could explain why the changes aren't being saved

Thanks
Naren

We have been on 2024.5.0.144 for over a month. I can't confirm if it ever did this before as we have just started working with transforms. Ironically we also clear cache/etc regularly for another app we use, but this is a good reminder as maybe I haven't done that in a while 🙂

I am not sure how or why the task would crash. I have stopped the task to make changes along with other methods and none seem to keep.

Hi @nahowe

Are you seeing a message on the task screen, bottom right that the task stopped abnormally, or do you see that message in the repsrv.log file? This would indicate/confirm if the task is crashing.

You can view the repsrv.log from the server page in Replicate, Logging tab, View Logs button.

Thanks,

Dana

Nope. No messages on the task screen nor anything referring to repsrv in the logs. Again, I am stopping the job, making edits, saving and starting again, so the task shouldn't be crashing. The changes are not being kept and this happens on ANY task with a transform. I have to recreate every time I want to make changes to the task.

Thanks @nahowe

I suspect the issue is version or endpoint specific, and that we may need to involve our internal support teams - so may I suggest that you please open a support case for this? Reason being, we do not have a way to elevate issues to our internal team from our forum.

Hello @nahowe

Observed the same behavior with some other customers as well. If you are using Mat 2024 GA version then request you to upgrade it to May 2024. Sp3 . and check the behaviour.

Hi @nahowe ,

May 2024 SP3 is an early build. You may want to use Qlik Replicate 2024.5.0.316 SP2.

Desmond
