Hi,
A customer had issues with the UI server service not running after doing an upgrade. I noticed that their data folder was named 'Attunity'. Could this be an issue related to why the services are having issues with starting?

Mohammed
Hi @MoeE ,
Could you provide more information for investigation?
1. Replicate versions (both before upgrade and after upgrade)
2. the data location (both before upgrade and after upgrade)
Regards,
Desmond
Hi @MoeE
Can you check if they manually updated the data folder name to Attunity? Otherwise, Qlik never renames the folder to Attunity during installation or upgrade. As Desmond mentioned, you need to check the data folder path before and after upgrade.
Thanks
Naren
Hello @MoeE
Kindly check repuictl.log for more information that why the Replicate services are not up and running.

Hi Desmond,
It was QR Nov 22 -> QR Nov 23.
The data folder location is on a different drive than where QR is installed but it is named "Attunity" and not "data".
My current idea is that since it is in a dev environment, I'd like to backup the data folder as JSON using "repctl -d exportrepository", completely delete Qlik Replicate and its related files, then do a fresh install of QR Nov 2023 and reimport the repository. Do you see any issues with this method?

Mohammed
Hello @MoeE ,

Hi @MoeE ,
Using "repctl -d exportrepository" only exports the definition. The stream position will not be preserved.
I will conduct a test and update you on the results.

Desmond
Hi Desmond,
It's okay, thank you. I've tested it and the tasks are migrated across successfully. I'm not sure however this will work in all cases for example if you tried importing the json between two different versions of Replicate.

Hi @MoeE ,
I installed v2022.11.0.394 in the below locations:
Prog: C:\Program Files\Attunity\Replicate
Data: C:\data
Then stop task and stop servics.
Upgrade to v2023.11.0.547
However, I did not encounter the issue you described. My Qlik Replicate services started automatically, and I also did not see the "data" folder being renamed to "Attunity".
Regarding tried importing the json between two different versions of Replicate, so far I haven't encountered any issue, as I frequently import JSON files from other versions into my system.

Desmond
