SAP-BW Extractors with QliKReplicate

Hello.

I have questions about the on-line documentation for SAP Extractors  (BW extractors in ECC) that QlikReplicate can use to send the data from an ECC to an outside database.  We already use QlikReplicate for getting data out of SAP to send to SQL server and we want to leverage some BW extractors in ECC to send data to SQL Server. The documentation on-line provides info on setup etc ... but it seems that in our ECC system we already have some Qlik programs to activate datasources etc..  They are just not the same programs GUI front-end as it appears in the on-line documentation  I've attached a document showing screenshots.  Here is the link to the documentation as well for reference.

Hi @YBA,

To answer your question if the Replicate is able to add the SAP extractor and Test connection works fine without installing the JAVA connector then we should be good and don't need JAVA connector separately. The operation your perform on ECC to activate the extractors should be enough.

Thank you,

Hello Shashi_holla.

Thanks for your comments. If I understand well, we should be able to try activating the SAP extractors and we should be fine with what is already installed in our ECC system (but different than what is in the Qlik documentation ? Tx much

And one thing I cant find the answer clearly is the following.   We have a BW system with of course many extractors running hourly and daily. I read something mentioning that an SAP extractor can be used only by BW  or by Qlik.   Not at the same time with both tools.  Is this true ? Does this mean that we would not be able to use BW extractions anymore if QlikReplicate use an extractor in service with BW ?

Thanks.

Only constraint that I'm aware of is that one extractor can be associated with only one task in Replicate. But outside Replicate we shouldn't have any constraints using it in a different environment. BW extractor should work as-is since it's outside Replicate.
